The property is situated at approximately 750 m east and up from Funchal old town, in a residential area. Public transport into town is plentiful and regular; the bus stop is on the main road a short walk away. The main shopping area of town is about 800 m away. The old house is a beautifully restored old Madeiran house with traditional architecture and furnishings, with a hall leading to the veranda, the lounge, the dining room and reception.
The Veranda, occupying the whole front of the olde house, offers views of the town and the sea. The new wing, is well appointed in contemporary design, and is connected to the old house reception area. There is a small reception, a sitting area and a lift leading to all floors and the undergroung car par. The mature gardens, offer meandering paths in local stone, flower beds and old trees, a traditional Madeiran Casa de Prazeres, a small garden conservatory, with a sitting area and a Chapel which may be used by guests for worship.
